The official synopsis for Eternals was revealed a while ago, and it confirmed that the heroes with superhuman powers have been living on Earth secretly for centuries. The multiple Eternals trailers confirm the synopsis and show fans a glimpse of the threats that will force the eternal beings to come out of hiding and unite once again to fight the evil Deviants. Nanjiani’s version of the tale is slightly different, though.

The Eternals trailer begins with Nanjiani’s voice narrating the history of the MCU, referring to all the events in the previous decade as “a bunch of other boring stuff.” The highlight of the storyline in his opinion was the appearance of Kingo, “eternal extraordinaire and giant movie star.” As he continues to praise his character, Lauren Ridloff, who plays Makkari in the Eternals, shows up and viewers know at this point that things will not end well for Nanjiani.

Completely clueless, Nanjiani continues to narrate the story of how Kingo, who is “bestowed with powers far beyond a mortal man,” protected humanity from the evil Deviants. The hilarious narration reaches its peak when Nanjiani refers to all the other heroes as a “revolving cast of sidekicks.” It’s all downhill for him from there as Salma Hayek, Brian Tyree Henry, and Angelina Jolie decide to join the show.

Their interaction is bound to get a laugh from the viewers, with Nanjiani seemingly afraid of Jolie’s Thena the most. Hayek even tries to intimidate him by reminding him of Thena’s weapons. It is at this point that he is willing to give the narration a second try, with this turn being a lot more truthful and less biased.

Marvel fans don’t need to hear that though, as the promotional content being released for Eternals has been constantly reminding them of the heroes’ history and purpose. The excitement for the film is quite high, and fans are ready to find out how the Eternals, who had been hiding on Earth all along, will be able to save humanity from the latest threat.

Eternals premieres in theaters on November 5, 2021.
