As cool as it would be to see the Olympic gold medalist feud with the Russian sympathizer Rusev, it’s not going to happen. That’s because Kurt Angle is staying with TNA Wrestling.

Yes, Angle spilled the beans to Vince Russo as part of his appearance on “The Swerve” show that he’ll be staying with the company he’s been with for the past eight years.
Honestly, it shouldn’t be a surprise for a variety of reasons. First of all, TNA has been heavily advertising him as part of their advertising campaign that “Impact Wrestling” is moving to Destination America. Plus, he didn’t exactly leave WWE on the best of terms when he claimed back then that he was being run into the ground and couldn’t take it anymore.
But here is what Angle said he was looking for when signing his next — and possibly final — wrestling contract:
Another reason why his decision may have been much easier to make was talk that the WWE really wasn’t very interested in bringing him back and Triple H — who is in charged of WWE talent relations — told him thanks but no thanks.
With the myriad of injuries he has suffered from a broken neck, bad back, bad knees, muscle tears and with the damage he has done to himself from past substance abuse (which he admits), Angle knows his days in the ring are numbered.
Angle talks about plenty of other things in the nearly 90 minutes he spoke with Russo including CM Punk which seems like a must-topic these days. You can watch the entire show below but be warned of Russo’s flailing arms.
